Steve & Linda are celebrating 36 years as Assembly of God missionaries. After pastoring for 11 years in Oregon and Washington, they took their two small boys in 1983 and headed to the Philippines where they ministered for over 20 years. In 2004, they were assigned as foreign missionaries with International Ministries/Global University. Global University (formerly ICI) is made of 4 schools – thye like to call it a “Seamless Curriculum.”
The School of Evangelism and Discipleship is for evangelizing and training new converts and church workers. Berean School of the Bible is for training church staff or for credentialing ministers. School of Bible and Theology provides a fully accredited BA degree. And the fourth school is the Graduate School which provides a fully accredited MA up to an MDiv.
Global has national offices in over 160 countries (some in very sensitive places) and over 400,000 students studying worldwide in 126 different languages at any one time. Steve is part of the faculty and has the joy of mentoring students by long distance as he grades their projects and assists them in their studies. He is also the one who trains the National Representatives in the overseas offices and mentors them as they reach out to their country. Linda is the Administrative Assistant for the International Network Services Office and works directly with the Vice President. Together they make the contacts with the National churches around the world to establish Global University in each country. There is a vetting process which has to be followed according to their accrediting organization.
Steve and Linda absolutely love this ministry as it reaches out to places they could not go as an American – but the curriculum can. God is doing wonderful things through the students as they study the courses and then work for Jesus. Global has special translation and training projects going on right now in Vietnam, Myanmar, India, Sri Lanka, China, Iran and Armenia. Please pray for these countries as God is moving across these lands in new ways.
